What a Samford Valley garden actually asks for
Samford Valley blocks are generous and the gardens on them are usually mature. That makes the design question less about filling space and more about editing it — deciding what stays, what comes out, and how the built elements thread through planting that is already decades old.
The valley floor is workable, and the sides are not. A great many Samford jobs are really retaining jobs with a garden on top: terracing a fall into usable levels, then treating those levels as outdoor rooms.
Established trees are the constant. Working around significant root zones, and getting machinery in without wrecking what you are trying to keep, is most of the planning on a Samford build.
No two gardens the same
Designed for this block, not copied from the last one
Valley acreage invites a garden lifted from a magazine: a long lawn, a row of palms, a pool fence. Duncan works from the land instead — the fall, the trees already there and the view down the valley — and designs one garden that could only sit on your block.
He is based just up the road in Dayboro and builds every garden himself, so the levels drawn on paper are set out, and where needed adjusted, by the person who drew them.
Budget
Before you call
This is design-led landscape construction, not a mowing round. There is no list price, because no two gardens are the same job — but the process is built so you know the number before you commit.
01
Budget first
Tell Duncan what you are comfortable investing. It is the fastest route to a concept that is actually buildable, and it is why he asks before he draws.
02
Then a concept
A unique landscape concept sketched on paper, with costings and an approximate time frame in writing. You see the garden and the number together.
03
Then you decide
Build only if you are happy with the paper. The work can be staged — plenty of gardens start as one wall, one path or one planted bed.

Questions
Landscaping in Samford Valley
Yes. Samford Valley is inside the area Simply Intreeging covers — Dayboro, Samford, Moreton Bay and across Brisbane's inner north. Duncan is based in Dayboro and travels for design and construction work. If you are not certain you are in range, call 0431 024 000 and ask.
Yes. Designing around significant root zones, and planning machinery access so the trees you are keeping survive the build, is a normal part of the job here. Some trees are protected by council rules; those are checked before the design is finalised.
There is no list price, because no two gardens are the same job. After the on-site consultation you receive a concept with costings and an approximate time frame in writing, before you commit to anything. Tell Duncan the budget you are comfortable with and the concept is designed to it — and the work can be staged.
Duncan Scott. The person who designs the garden is the person who builds it — not a salesperson, and not a subcontractor you have never met. He has been building gardens in south-east Queensland since 2000, and holds a Queensland builder licence for structural landscaping (1161156).
