What a Redcliffe garden actually asks for
Redcliffe faces straight onto Moreton Bay, and that exposure shapes every garden here. Onshore wind, salt spray and hard light are the normal conditions rather than the exception, particularly on the streets closest to the water.
The soils are often sandy. They drain fast, which is good under paving and bad for lawns and garden beds that dry out and lose their nutrients. New lawns and planting need proper soil preparation underneath to last.
The housing is a mix of older beach houses, post-war homes and newer builds, often on modest blocks. Plenty of Redcliffe gardens have to deliver shelter, privacy and somewhere to sit out of the wind in a small space.
No two gardens the same
Designed for this block, not copied from the last one
A bayside garden copied from an inland suburb tends to struggle in its first summer. Duncan designs for the position: screens that double as windbreaks, paving that stays comfortable underfoot, and planting chosen for the coast rather than the catalogue.
He builds it himself, so the soil under the lawn, the base under the paving and the plant choices are all handled by the person who designed them — and adjusted on site if the ground turns out to need it.
Budget
Before you call
This is design-led landscape construction, not a mowing round. There is no list price, because no two gardens are the same job — but the process is built so you know the number before you commit.
01
Budget first
Tell Duncan what you are comfortable investing. It is the fastest route to a concept that is actually buildable, and it is why he asks before he draws.
02
Then a concept
A unique landscape concept sketched on paper, with costings and an approximate time frame in writing. You see the garden and the number together.
03
Then you decide
Build only if you are happy with the paper. The work can be staged — plenty of gardens start as one wall, one path or one planted bed.

Questions
Landscaping in Redcliffe
Yes. Redcliffe is inside the area Simply Intreeging covers across Brisbane and Moreton Bay. Duncan is based in Dayboro and travels for design and construction work. If you are not certain you are in range, call 0431 024 000 and ask.
It will if the ground under it is prepared properly. Sandy soil drains fast and holds few nutrients, so the work starts with new under-turf soil and, where it suits, programmable irrigation — or synthetic turf if you would rather never mow.
There is no list price, because no two gardens are the same job. After the on-site consultation you receive a concept with costings and an approximate time frame in writing, before you commit to anything. Tell Duncan the budget you are comfortable with and the concept is designed to it — and the work can be staged.
Duncan Scott. The person who designs the garden is the person who builds it — not a salesperson, and not a subcontractor you have never met. He has been building gardens in south-east Queensland since 2000, and holds a Queensland builder licence for structural landscaping (1161156).
