What an Ascot garden actually asks for
Ascot is about as established as Brisbane gets, and the gardens carry a corresponding expectation. Frontage matters here in a way it does not in most suburbs: the garden is part of how the house presents.
The hill gives many Ascot blocks a fall and, often, a view worth designing toward. Terracing, a properly detailed terrace and planting that frames rather than blocks are the moves that get used most.
Material quality is the whole game on these blocks. Natural stone, travertine, hardwood and custom steel are what the architecture asks for, and they are the reason a garden here still looks right in fifteen years.
Budget
Before you call
This is design-led landscape construction, not a mowing round. There is no list price, because no two gardens are the same job — but the process is built so you know the number before you commit.
01
Budget first
Tell Duncan what you are comfortable investing. It is the fastest route to a concept that is actually buildable, and it is why he asks before he draws.
02
Then a concept
A unique landscape concept sketched on paper, with costings and an approximate time frame in writing. You see the garden and the number together.
03
Then you decide
Build only if you are happy with the paper. The work can be staged — plenty of gardens start as one wall, one path or one planted bed.
