Since 2000

No two gardens the same

Most backyards get built from a list: a deck from one trade, a pool fence from another, a few plants from whoever is cheapest. Each piece is fine. Together they never quite belong to each other.

A Simply Intreeging backyard starts the other way round. Duncan walks the block with you, asks what you want to do out there and what you are comfortable spending, then draws one garden that does all of it — the walls, the paving, the timber, the water, the fire and the planting worked out together on paper.

Then he builds it. The person who chose the stone is the person who lays it, so the detail that never fits on a drawing still ends up in the ground. He has been doing it that way since 2000, and because he sees each garden as a piece of art, he has never repeated a design.

Designed and built by the same hands

Budget first

Tell Duncan what you are comfortable investing. A concept designed to the wrong number wastes everybody’s time.

A couple of hours on site

Levels, drainage, aspect, what stays and what goes, and how you want to use the backyard once it is finished.

A concept on paper

A unique design sketched for your block, with stone samples, plant images, written costings and a time frame.

Built by the designer

If you are happy with the paper, Duncan builds it — all at once or in stages that do not fight each other.

Backyard design — answered

There is no list price, because no two backyards are the same job. Access, levels and materials drive the number. After the on-site consultation you receive a concept with costings and an approximate time frame in writing, designed to the budget you gave Duncan, before you commit to anything.

Duncan does. Simply Intreeging is one designer who builds what he draws — the stone, the paving, the timber, the water and fire, and the planting. Nobody hands your drawing to a crew who never met you.

No. Duncan treats every garden as its own piece of work and never repeats a design. The gallery is there to show the range of materials and ideas, not a catalogue to pick from.

Yes. Plenty of gardens start as one wall, one path or one bed. A concept plan lets you build in stages without the second stage fighting the first.

Simply Intreeging is based in Dayboro and works across Moreton Bay and Brisbane’s inner north.
