What a garden in The Gap actually asks for
The Gap has the largest blocks of Brisbane's inner north-west and sits right against the D'Aguilar foothills. Gardens here have room to be ambitious, and slope and established trees to be ambitious around.
Because the blocks are big, staging works particularly well. A concept for the whole garden, built one area at a time, gets a great many Gap gardens where they want to be without a single overwhelming spend.
Bush proximity shapes the planting. Robust species that cope with shade, root competition and leaf litter do better here than anything that needs coddling, and the garden looks more at home for it.
Budget
Before you call
This is design-led landscape construction, not a mowing round. There is no list price, because no two gardens are the same job — but the process is built so you know the number before you commit.
01
Budget first
Tell Duncan what you are comfortable investing. It is the fastest route to a concept that is actually buildable, and it is why he asks before he draws.
02
Then a concept
A unique landscape concept sketched on paper, with costings and an approximate time frame in writing. You see the garden and the number together.
03
Then you decide
Build only if you are happy with the paper. The work can be staged — plenty of gardens start as one wall, one path or one planted bed.
